Health and Sanitation

The Project aims to contribute to the reduction of anemia prevalence among children under 24 months of age by developing activities focused on increasing consumption of iron rich foods through demonstrations sessions and cooking workshops, as well as education in higiene and sanitation practices through counceling and use of sms messages as reminders to help compliance with use of multimicronutrients, iron supplementation and better eating practices.

A second component of the intervention implied promoting participation of communities, leaders and local authorities in the reduction of anemia prevalence among families in participating communities of Cieneguillo Centro.

Project objective:
Contribute to improving the health and nutritional status of children from 6 to 24 months living in Centro Poblado de Cieneguillo Centro in Sullana, Piura.
