The Safe Water Project

    Contaminated water is one of the main causes of gastrointestinal diseases and malnutrition; for that reason, “Agua Segura” Project of The Clorox Company is an opportunity for families in the district of Tambo Grande in Piura, who do not have drinking water and whose supply is from natural wells or tanker trucks that deposit the water in public community tanks, to solve the problem of consumption of contaminated water and improve their health and quality of life.

    Agua Segura is based on a pilot project conducted between 2012 and 2014. Thanks to the results obtained, the project has been extended to last five years and to benefit 25 thousand people.

    The project has two main lines of action:

    It gives permanent access to chlorine through dispensers that make it possible to obtain doses of this standardized input easily and quickly.
    icon-capacitacion
    It offers a component of capacity building in leaders and families regarding the importance of water treatment and household hygiene.

    OBJECTIVE: To increase the number of families consuming safe drinking wáter.
