Presentation
The Satellite Laboratory – IQTLAB was established in 2002 in Iquitos by Dr. Robert Gilman, Dr. Margaret Kosek, and Mg. Pablo Peñataro Yori, from the Bloomberg School of Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. The laboratory’s team of experts is comprised of professionals from Prisma NGO, the Bloomberg School of Public Health, Tulane University School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine, and the University of California School of Medicine in San Diego.
Objective
The laboratory’s mission is to improve the understanding of common health issues in vulnerable populations in order to identify sustainable solutions that will improve the health and social and economic conditions of the study population and others like it.
Experience
The IQTLAB team has experience and knowledge in the epidemiology of tropical infectious diseases, malnutrition, intestinal infections, biostatistics, medical science, demography, ecology, data collection, data analysis and laboratory.
