Educando Hoy para el Futuro – Secundaria

    “Educando Hoy para el Futuro – Secundaria” is a project financed by the Bayóvar Comprehensive Social Fund Project – FOSPIBAY which will allow to improve the quality of the education service to reach optimal levels of learning, generate values and comprehensive training in secondary school students in Sechura, Piura.

    Since it is one of the priorities of the project, there is a special emphasis in joint work among actors and institutions involved in education so that they can successfully lead strategies that help improving student learning.

    Goal:

    Reach optimal levels of learning and value generation thanks to the quality of education service and achieve comprehensive training of students in secondary schools in Sechura, Piura.

    Source of funding: Bayóvar Comprehensive Social Fund Project – FOSPIBAY.

    Scope of intervention:

    1684 students, 82 teachers, 16 principals and 5 deputy principals and over 1000 families in Sechura, Piura.

    Duration: November 2018 – October 2021.

    Expected Results:

    1. Secondary school teachers with contextualized strategies for teaching and learning in Arts and Math.
    2. Prioritized Education Institutions have a better school management aligned to the policies which favor the learning process improvement.
    3. A strengthened UGEL Sechura which includes student involvement in their territorial management.
    4. The UGEL and education institutions promote and manage the knowledge which improve the quality of the education service at the secondary school level.

    In the first year of the execution of the project:

    The project has successfully achieved that students learn in schools thanks to the following:

    • A better relation between the school and other actors to improve the learning conditions for students, avoid violence, etc.
    • 75 teachers finish the specialization course in Math and Arts.
    • 28 teacher-tutors improve the quality of life of 67 students who risk staying behind in the Sechura province through visits in their homes.
    • Improvement in teaching practices in teachers regarding planning, development and assessment of teaching sessions and achieving the planned learning goals.
    • Use of planning instruments such as the Institutional Learning Project (PEI), Annual Working Plan (PAT), improvement plans which serve as guides for the work of the principals of each of the Education Institutions in the project.
    • Better participation of parents in accompaniment and reinforcement activities of their children, as well as the proper activities of the school.
    • Better appreciation from the community towards FOSPIBAY intervention.
    • A knowledge management committee with a better use of the technical assistance to the teachers for generation of applications.
    • Innovations presented by teachers are recognized by national and local experts, and will be implemented in 2020.
