    The lack of employment for young and adult women in mining zone creates inequalities among men and women, causing women to be put down. Therefore, this project aims at developing a strategy for craftmanship training young and adult women in the Huaychao community in Pasco.

    GOAL: Build the women’s technical capacities for knitting which will allow them to be an agent of change in their families and in society by generating their own income supported by their leadership, confidence and empowerment.

    Source of funding: Volcan Mining Company.

    Scope of intervention: Young and adult women in the Huaychao community in Pasco.

    Duration: March 2018 – December 2020.

    Achievements:

    • There is a duly recognized and formal organization of women that has been working for two years and has a registered brand in INDECOPI.
    • The association of women participated in the Gamarra Fashion Week with their pieces of clothing.
    • They also participated for a second year in the Huayllay Rural Tours.
