LimaKids aims to see that children and adolescents housed in different institutions and in a situation of social risk in Peru acquire the skills to integrate properly into society and thus have the opportunity of a more prosperous future.<\/p>\n

LimaKids presents the futsal program, an education-through-sport activity, designed to educate in values and retrieve social skills among the children in the homes. The great majority of the beneficiaries come from families living in extreme poverty or they have run away from home and are living on the streets.<\/p>\n

In LimaKids, the children and adolescents in homes for abandoned children and other institutions in Lima are organized in teams, and train every week with expert volunteer trainers; they take part in a series of games leading to a championship. The real intervention occurs on three levels: Training practice, Games and Interactions.<\/p>\n

Objective:<\/strong> To offer an alternative line of support for children and adolescents living in orphanages, children\u2019s homes, shelters, children\u2019s villages, or in situations of social risk \u2013 basically those living on the streets, in extreme poverty or both situations since they are highly vulnerable to violence (physical, psychological and sexual), substance abuse and sexual exploitation.<\/p>\n
